Franco Pianigiani awarded Carlo Capriata International Prize

Maestro Franco Pianigiani has been named the recipient of the 2026 “Carlo Capriata” International Award. The ceremony, part of the “Orchestra in Provincia… e non solo” series, will take place on September 5 at the Church of San Nicolao in Tassarolo.

Pianigiani, a prominent figure in the international concert scene and former first double bassist of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, will perform works by Giovanni Bottesini and Domenico Dragonetti. He will be accompanied by the Strings of the Orchestra Classica di Alessandria, directed by Giulio Laguzzi.

The event also features the “Premio Capriata Giovani,” which has awarded the talent scholarship to Federico Giolito. The evening is organized with an emphasis on solidarity, featuring open access to support charitable causes through the Rotary Club Gavi-Libarna.
