Francofolies festival organizers deny Helena Bailly cancellation rumors

Organizers of the Francofolies de Nouméa festival in New Caledonia have issued an urgent denial regarding rumors that singer Helena Bailly had canceled her appearance. In a social media statement, the festival confirmed her presence on stage this Friday to reassure concerned fans.

The festival is also looking ahead to its 2026 edition, which is planned as a large-scale event at the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, featuring a mix of local artists and performers from mainland France.

In related festival news, Reunionnais artist Tine Poppy performed on the main stage of the Francofolies de La Réunion. The performance marked a significant career milestone for the singer, who is currently preparing her first album. Her musical style, which she describes as ‘pop séga’ and ‘pop kabar,’ incorporates Creole lyrics and traditional influences.
