Lens and PSV secure dominant victories in European league starts

In European football league openings, Lens secured a 5-2 victory over Auxerre in Ligue 1. Croatian striker Franjo Ivanović scored his first goal for the club in the 49th minute, shortly after joining on loan from Benfica. Montenegrin midfielder Andrija Bulatović also featured, entering the match in the 79th minute.

In the Dutch Eredivisie, PSV Eindhoven defeated Groningen 5-1. Croatian international Ivan Perišić played a central role, scoring two goals to help secure the win. Despite a goal from Groningen's Brynjolfur Willumsson and an own goal by Thijmen Blokzijl, PSV maintained control to move to second place in the standings.

In contrast to the success at PSV, Bosnian international Esmir Bajraktarević remained on the sidelines, failing to see any playing time for a third consecutive match, raising questions regarding his status under coach Peter Bosz ahead of the Nations League.
