Franjo von Allmen awarded Skieur d’Or trophy

Swiss alpine skier Franjo von Allmen has been named the Skieur d’Or for the 2026 season by the International Association of Ski Journalists (AIJS). The 25-year-old from Boltigen secured the prestigious Serge Lang trophy following a highly successful season that included three Olympic gold medals.

In the voting process, von Allmen narrowly defeated Italian skier Federica Brignone, the previous year's recipient. Other notable candidates included Marco Odermatt, a two-time winner of the award. Von Allmen's season achievements also included two World Cup downhill victories in Gröden and Crans-Montana, along with seven total World Cup podium finishes.

Since its inception in 1963, the Skieur d’Or has been one of the most traditional honors in alpine skiing, awarded by journalists based on athletic performance, consistency, and overall impact on the sport. Von Allmen is the ninth Swiss athlete to receive this distinction.
