Frank Adjei Junior’s Late Goal Secures Hammarby Draw with Anderlecht

Ghanaian midfielder Frank Adjei Junior came off the bench for Hammarby IF in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League second‑qualifying‑round tie against Belgian side RSC Anderlecht at Stockholm’s 3Arena on Thursday. Anderlecht took an early lead in the sixth minute through Ukrainian forward Danylo Sikan and kept a 1‑0 advantage at the break, while Hammarby played much of the match with ten men after a second‑yellow‑card.

In the 86th minute coach Kim Hellberg introduced Adjei, and he scored the equaliser three minutes later in the 89th minute. A VAR review confirmed the goal, securing a 1‑1 draw and leaving the tie evenly poised ahead of the second leg in Brussels on 30 July.
