Frank De Bleker Appointed Head of Serbian Football Refereeing Committee

Belgian referee Frank De Bleker, born 1 July 1966, former FIFA‑listed official (1998‑2011) who has overseen World Cup, European Championship and Champions League matches, will serve a two‑year term as president of the Refereeing Committee of the Football Association of Serbia (FSS). The federation said his mandate will focus on strengthening the integrity of the refereeing body, enhancing education, professional development and the application of VAR technology in line with FIFA and UEFA standards.

De Bleker is scheduled to meet referees, club officials, coaches, captains and media representatives within the next week to present his vision and priorities. He will be assisted by long‑time colleague and VAR expert Kristof Dirik. The appointment follows De Bleker’s recent leadership of the Azerbaijan refereeing commission and his work as a UEFA referee development panel member, bringing extensive international experience to Serbian football.
