Frank Edoho says sponsor fine forced end of Nigeria’s ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’
Nigerian television host Frank Edoho clarified that the popular quiz show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” stopped airing because its long‑term sponsor withdrew after the Federal Government imposed a substantial fine on the company. Edoho denied reports that he was dismissed, stating the sponsor’s withdrawal, not his firing, ended the programme.
Edoho, who previously worked for four years at Radio Nigeria (Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria) before moving to television, said he entered negotiations to acquire a stake in the relaunched show after new sponsors showed interest. Those talks collapsed over disagreements, and he was absent from the revived version, fueling speculation about his role.
