Frank Rosin's Rescue of Nicos Astra Pott Ends with Restaurant Closure

TV chef Frank Rosin attempted to revive the Greek restaurant Nicos Astra Pott in Pinneberg, Schleswig‑Holstein. The establishment was serving over 100 dishes made with frozen powders and deep‑fried food, resulting in a disastrous first test where guests refused to eat and the restaurant scored only 20 of 50 points.

Rosin overhauled the menu, discarded the processed ingredients, renovated the interior and installed a slimmer, brighter dining space. He also placed the owners' son‑in‑law Alexis in charge of the kitchen. At the final test the restaurant achieved 43 of 50 points, a marked improvement.

Despite the culinary turnaround, the owners Vasilios Evangelou and Marina Karasik said the financial losses were too great and decided to close Nicos Astra Pott permanently. The episode will be broadcast on Kabel Eins on Thursday evenings from autumn.
