Frank Voelkl, a master perfumer at DSM-Firmenich, has been a central figure in the fragrance industry for the last two decades. He is responsible for several highly recognizable scents, including Le Labo’s Santal 33, Glossier’s You, and Phlur’s Father Figure.

Voelkl is only the 16th person to achieve the master perfumer designation in DSM-Firmenich’s century-long history. In this role, master perfumers sit on councils that determine which new materials the company will pursue for future use. His portfolio also includes work for major brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein, and celebrity fragrances for Ariana Grande and Jennifer Lopez.
