Frankfort police investigate death of 2-year-old boy

Police in Frankfort, Illinois, are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy following a suspected domestic homicide. Officers responded to a residence on Brook Stone Court after receiving a report of an unresponsive child. Upon arrival, responders performed CPR on the boy, who was subsequently transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities reported that the child’s mother was also found at the scene with injuries believed to be self-inflicted. She was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Five individuals were taken from the property by emergency responders. While investigators have labeled the case a domestic-related homicide, officials have not yet released the cause of death or identified the mother.
