Frankfort woman charged with assaulting officer and nurses
A Frankfort woman, Kenya Collins, faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following a series of physical altercations on Sunday morning. According to police reports, officers responded to a domestic dispute on Myrtle Avenue, where they found Collins fighting her grandmother.
During the arrest, Collins allegedly resisted officers by grabbing them and going limp to prevent being placed in a police cruiser. Upon her transport to Frankfort Regional Medical Center, she reportedly scratched an officer, kicked a nurse, and attempted to bite another nurse.
Collins is charged with third-degree assault of a police officer and third-degree assault of a healthcare provider, both Class D felonies. Additional charges include fourth-degree assault involving domestic violence, resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct, and menacing. She is currently held at the Franklin County Regional Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
