Frankfurt Airport passenger numbers rise in July

Frankfurt Airport saw a 1.4 percent increase in passenger numbers during July, reaching approximately 6.2 million travelers. This growth occurred despite a 3.2 percent decline in aircraft movements, as airlines reduced capacity. The increase in passengers was attributed to higher load factors and the utilization of larger aircraft.

Demand was particularly strong for summer leisure destinations in Southern Europe, including Italy, Spain, Greece, and Croatia. Long-haul travel also saw growth, specifically on routes to Israel, China, Brazil, and parts of Africa, such as Kenya and South Africa.

Cargo throughput rose by 0.9 percent to 180,622 metric tons. On a broader scale, Fraport’s international airport portfolio recorded a total passenger increase of 2.2 percent, totaling 23.4 million travelers. Notable growth was observed at airports in Ljubljana, Greece, and Bulgaria, while slight declines were noted in Antalya and Lima.
