Frankfurt Book Fair to feature AI focus and industry transformation

The 78th Frankfurt Book Fair is scheduled to take place from October 7 to 11, featuring a reorganized layout designed to improve visitor navigation. All consumer publishers will be located on the ground floor levels. The event expects a high level of participation, with exhibitors remaining at levels seen in previous years.

Key highlights include the presence of prominent guests such as Wolf Biermann, Gisèle Pelicot, and Colson Whitehead, alongside German authors like Sebastian Fitzek and Cornelia Funke. The Peace Prize of the German Book Trade will be awarded to human rights lawyer Philippe Sands on October 11. Looking ahead, the Czech Republic is designated as the guest of honor for 2026.

The fair also focuses on industry transformation, particularly regarding artificial intelligence, copyright standards, and sustainability. Hall 4.1 will serve as a hub for science, education, and publishing services, hosting international providers from countries including Greece, Italy, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, China, and South Korea. This section will feature an Innovation Stage and a Knowledge Hub to address trends in EdTech and digital learning environments.
