Gina H. faces contradictions in Fabian murder trial

The murder trial of eight-year-old Fabian from Güstrow continues at the Rostock District Court, with defendant Gina H. facing intense questioning regarding significant contradictions in her testimony.

Presiding Judge Holger Schütt has highlighted several discrepancies in the defendant's account of the day Fabian disappeared on October 10, 2025. Gina H. previously claimed she traveled to Güstrow to withdraw 1,500 euros from her grandparents' account, but bank records show no transactions occurred on that account between October 9 and October 14, 2025. Furthermore, her grandparents stated they remained home all morning on the day in question, contradicting her reason for being in the area.

The prosecution alleges that Gina H. lured the child from his home and subsequently stabbed him near a pond in Klein Upahl before setting his body on fire. The alleged motive is linked to her relationship with Fabian's father, Matthias R. While Gina H. continues to deny all involvement, the court has noted her inability to explain these inconsistencies during the 28th day of proceedings.
