Frankfurt Marathon to host fastest-ever men's elite field

The 43rd Mainova Frankfurt Marathon, scheduled for October 25, will feature the fastest men’s elite field in the event's history. The lineup includes four runners with personal bests under 2:05:00 and four others under 2:07:00. Leading the men's field is European Champion Amanal Petros, who holds the German record of 2:04:03, alongside Andualem Belay, Samuel Fitwi, and Richard Ringer.

In the women’s category, the field features five athletes with personal records under 2:22:00, marking the second-fastest women’s lineup in the race's history. Organizers confirmed the return of 2018 winner Meskerem Assefa, whose participation was initially uncertain due to strict visa requirements. She joins Zeineba Yimer and American runner Betsy Saina as top contenders. However, 2023 winner Buzunesh Getachew has withdrawn from the competition due to injury.
