Frankfurt police intensify nighttime vehicle and person controls

Frankfurt police are conducting intensified nighttime and early morning vehicle and person controls on entry and exit roads to combat “Violence as a Service” phenomena.

During these operations, two separate attempts to evade police checkpoints occurred. In one instance, a driver in a Golf GTI 8 fled by driving the wrong way onto the A 66 motorway; the vehicle remains missing. In a second incident on Friedberger Landstraße, a driver accelerated to escape a checkpoint, lost control, and struck a pole. The driver was arrested and found to be under the influence of alcohol. Police have initiated criminal proceedings and are seeking witnesses who may have information regarding the fleeing Golf GTI 8.
