Frankfurt police investigate pepper spray attack and nightclub arson

Two separate criminal incidents were reported in Frankfurt, Germany.

In the Gallus district, a 24-year-old man was injured during an altercation on September 4, 2026. After a dispute arose with two unidentified individuals on a park bench in Frankenallee, one of the men used a pepper spray pistol to shoot the victim in the face at close range. The victim sustained injuries to his eye and face and was hospitalized. The two suspects fled the scene on a silver moped, and police have launched an investigation.

In the Gutleutviertel district, a 33-year-old man was detained following an arson attempt at a nightclub on the night of September 5, 2026. The individual used a lighter to set club decorations near the cloakroom on fire. Patrons prevented the fire from spreading by dousing the flames with their drinks. No injuries were reported, and police have initiated criminal proceedings for property damage by arson.
