Frankfurt police seize vehicles during illegal racer crackdown

Frankfurt police conducted targeted operations against illegal street racers, posers, and tuners on September 13. The specialized control group, supported by officers from Southeast and East Hesse, carried out inspections throughout the city to ensure road safety, particularly in anticipation of a local automobile show.

During the operation, authorities seized five vehicles. Two cars were impounded due to unauthorized technical modifications that voided their operating permits. Additionally, police identified five vehicles on the A5 motorway that had nearly brought traffic to a standstill by blocking all three lanes to film video content. These drivers face criminal charges for coercion in traffic.

While a show parade of eight vehicles entered public streets around 1:30 PM, no violations were detected during their inspection. Police maintained a high presence in the city center throughout the day, and the event concluded without further major incidents.
