Frankfurt S‑Bahn service disruptions announced for July‑August 2026

Deutsche Bahn announced extensive construction work at Frankfurt West station that will affect S‑Bahn operations from 10 July to 14 August 2026. All lines S1‑S6 will run on altered schedules or be partially suspended. Line S3 will be diverted between Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof and Frankfurt‑Rödelheim, skipping the Frankfurt Galluswarte, Messe and West stations from 11 July 21:00 to 3 August 05:00 on weekdays, with the diversion extending to 14 August at night and on weekends. Line S4 will not run between Frankfurt Süd and Frankfurt‑Rödelheim during the same weekday period, also extending to 14 August at off‑peak times. Lines S5 and S6 will operate at 30‑minute intervals on weekdays; S5 will be diverted at night and on weekends, also missing the three stations, while S6 will run only between Friedberg and Frankfurt West. The S1 line will run only between Rödermark Ober‑Roden and Offenbach Hauptbahnhof, and the S2 line will be completely cancelled. Replacement bus services will connect Frankfurt‑Rödelheim and Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof throughout the construction period.
