Frankie Grande discusses experiencing femmefobia within the LGBTQ+ community

Frankie Grande has addressed the "femmefobia" they experienced within the LGBTQ+ community. Speaking backstage at Titanica En Broadway, Grande noted that writing their memoirs helped provide clarity regarding the hostility faced from other gay men.

Grande explained that their choice to embrace femininity—through makeup, heels, and glitter—often challenges queer gender norms. They suggested that the backlash they receive is rooted in both homophobia and misogyny, stating, "I am a victim of misogyny as a man who presents as a woman... The way they hate me is more in line with the way women are hated than the way gay men are hated."
