Frankie Miller, country music legend, dies at 95

Country music legend Frankie Miller has died of natural causes at his home in Brady, Texas, at the age of 95. His death was confirmed by Sexton Entertainment Group and Tracy Pitcox, president of Heart of Texas Records.

Born in Victoria, Texas, in 1930, Miller rose to prominence with his 1959 signature song, ‘Blackland Farmer,’ which reached the top five on the country charts and later crossed over to the pop charts. His career included hits such as ‘Family Man,’ ‘Baby Rocked Her Dolly,’ and ‘A Little South of Memphis.’

Miller’s life included service in the Korean War, where he earned a Bronze Star and reached the rank of sergeant. Throughout his career, he performed on the Grand Ole Opry and the Louisiana Hayride, touring with major artists including Johnny Cash, George Jones, and Willie Nelson. He remained active in the music industry into his 90s and recently released his biography, ‘The Blackland Farmer: Life Among Country Music Legends.’
