Frankie Pangilinan to debut in historical biopic ‘EDJOP’
Frankie Pangilinan is set to make her acting debut in the historical biopic ‘EDJOP’, a film inspired by the life of Edgar ‘Edjop’ Jopson, a prominent student leader and former president of the National Union of Students of the Philippines. In the film, Pangilinan portrays the younger version of Joy Jopson, the wife of the activist portrayed by Elijah Canlas.
To promote the film, the production team is launching the ‘Edjop Campus Conversations’ tour, which aims to engage students directly rather than relying solely on traditional press conferences and premiere nights. The tour will visit several universities across the Philippines, including the University of the Philippines Diliman, Ateneo de Manila University, and University of Santo Tomas, to discuss Jopson’s legacy and societal issues.
Sharon Cuneta has expressed her support for her daughter’s milestone, encouraging followers to support the project. The film is scheduled to open in Philippine cinemas nationwide on September 16.
