Franklin County and Frankfort emergency service reports

Weekly reports from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and local Frankfort emergency services detail various incidents occurring between mid-August 2026.

In Franklin County, law enforcement responded to several calls, including a report of erratic driving in Farmington where the driver cited adjusting a smoothie straw as the cause, a trespassing issue in New Sharon, and an ongoing investigation into threatening phone calls at a Dollar General in Kingfield. Other incidents included a false ATV crash alert and a verbal domestic dispute in Carthage.

In Frankfort, emergency responders managed multiple motor vehicle accidents, a fraud complaint involving a check at Traditional Bank, and a theft report. Notably, authorities and the state fire marshal responded to a structure fire on Preston Way, where an 84-year-old woman was found deceased. Other reported incidents included a dog bite at Frankfort Regional Medical Center and a criminal mischief complaint involving property damage on Conway Street.
