Franklin Graham to hold religious event in Manchester

Evangelist Franklin Graham is scheduled to hold a “God Loves You Tour” event at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena. The gathering involves approximately 600 evangelical churches from the Northwest of England, with over 8,000 people expected to attend, many utilizing free bus transportation.

Graham, the president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), stated that many people, particularly the youth, are searching for truth in an era of AI and global misinformation. The event will feature musical performances by Michael W. Smith, Charity Gayle, and FaithChild.

This visit connects to the legacy of Graham’s father, Billy Graham, who preached in Manchester in 1961. While Graham acknowledged that his message regarding sin and scripture often draws opposition, he noted that the response to the Manchester event has been “extremely positive.”
