FranklinWH to debut hybrid battery system at All Energy Australia
FranklinWH will unveil a multi-phase hybrid battery system designed for the Australian and New Zealand markets at the All Energy Australia 2026 exhibition. The system connects battery storage directly to solar panels, which aims to simplify installation and reduce required wiring.
Homeowners can choose between a streamlined setup using a built-in aPower controller or a more flexible configuration by adding an external aGate controller. The aGate allows for the integration of additional solar, generators, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, and smart circuits. The system is designed to support single, split, and three-phase grids, making it suitable for various property types.
In addition to hardware, the company will preview two software tools: Energy Optimiser for homeowners and the Connect Portal for installers. The Energy Optimiser is intended to move beyond fixed time-of-use schedules to better manage battery usage based on real-time household needs and weather conditions.
Addressing regional challenges, FranklinWH emphasizes the importance of engineering systems to withstand seasonal variations, such as reduced solar generation and temperature sensitivity in lithium-ion technology, which can impact performance in field conditions compared to laboratory settings.
