Franz Marc exhibition opens in Düsseldorf

The K20 Kunstsammlung NRW in Düsseldorf is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Die Suche nach einer besseren Welt’ (The Search for a Better World), focusing on the works of Franz Marc. The exhibition explores Marc’s artistic evolution from naturalism and Jugendstil toward expressionism and cubism.

Known for his animal paintings, Marc sought to depict animals as they perceive the world and feel their own existence. His work often utilized symbolic colors to explore the spiritual aspects of art. In 1911, Marc co-founded Der Blaue Reiter with Wassily Kandinsky and Gabriele Münter. Following its run in Düsseldorf, the exhibition is scheduled to move to the Kunstmuseum Bern.
