Fraport Brasil and ACIC discuss flood prevention at Salgado Filho Airport

Representatives from the Canela Commercial and Industrial Association (ACIC) met with Fraport Brasil, the concessionaire for Salgado Filho International Airport in Porto Alegre, to discuss infrastructure improvements. The meeting focused on measures taken to mitigate the risk of future flooding following the impacts of the 2024 floods.

Fraport Brasil presented details regarding structural interventions at the airport and municipal works in the surrounding area designed to prepare the terminal for extreme weather events, such as those associated with El Niño. The discussions emphasized the airport's strategic importance as a primary gateway for tourism and the economy of the Serra Gaúcha region.
