Fraport Brasil assumes management of Jericoacoara Airport

Fraport Brasil has officially assumed management of the Jericoacoara Regional Airport (Comandante Ariston Pessoa) in northeastern Brazil. This transition, effective September 1, 2026, integrates the airport into the existing Fortaleza Airport concession, which is scheduled to run until 2047.

The acquisition was facilitated through the Brazilian government’s AmpliAR program, designed to modernize regional airports by incorporating them into larger existing concessions. This move expands Fraport AG’s Brazilian portfolio to three airports.

Fraport Brasil has committed to a three-year investment plan focused on modernizing infrastructure, enhancing operational safety, and improving the passenger experience. The airport, which saw a 23 percent increase in passenger volume in 2025, serves as a vital gateway to major tourism regions and national parks. The company aims to leverage this new management to drive regional economic growth and strengthen connectivity for airlines such as LATAM, GOL, and Azul.
