Fraport Greece celebrates tourism link between Thessaloniki and Olympus

To mark World Tourism Day, Fraport Greece hosted an event at Thessaloniki ‘Makedonia’ Airport for the fourth consecutive year, highlighting the connection between Thessaloniki and Mount Olympus.

The event utilized gastronomy to promote a unified travel narrative titled ‘THESSALONIKI. YOUR PATH TO OLYMPUS.’ This theme emphasizes the link between Thessaloniki, a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy since 2021, and Mount Olympus, which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2026 as a mixed-heritage site.

Organized in collaboration with the Region of Central Macedonia, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Municipality of Thermi, and the Thessaloniki Hotel Association, the celebration showcased local traditions and regional products to travelers at the airport departures area.
