Fraport Greece reports 4.7% rise in June 2026 passenger traffic at regional airports
In June 2026, the 14 regional airports operated by Fraport Greece handled 5.6 million passengers, an increase of 250 000 or 4.7 % compared with June 2025. International traffic drove the growth, reaching 4.74 million passengers (+212 000, +4.7 %), while domestic traffic rose to 860 000 (+38 000, +4.6 %). The biggest gains were recorded at Thessaloniki (+49 000, +9 %), Corfu (+45 000, +6.5 %), Rhodes (+38 000, +4 %), Chania (+30 000, +5.8 %), Mykonos (+14 000, +8 %), Skiathos (+12 000, +11.2 %) and Kefalonia (+10 000, +7.5 %). Traffic from the Middle East rebounded, adding about 70 000 passengers (+121.5 %); Israeli carriers contributed a rise of 73 000 passengers (+161 %). Total flights rose to 41 483, up 5.6 %, while the average load factor fell to 82.4 % from 84.6 %. Despite a calendar that gave the month one fewer Sunday than the previous year, demand remained strong. Over the first half of 2026 the airports saw 13.65 million passengers, a 5.4 % increase over the same period in 2025, and since the concession began they have served roughly 266 million travelers.
