Fras-le launches new clutch lining for Scania Series 5 trucks

Fras-le, a global leader in friction materials, has launched the RC/963 clutch lining specifically designed for Scania Series 5 trucks manufactured between 2020 and 2026. Developed to meet the rigorous demands of heavy-duty cargo transport, the new component features a formulation that is 100% free of asbestos and heavy metals.

The lining is engineered for high thermal resistance, durability under high temperatures, and resistance to centrifugation, ensuring smooth engagement during gear shifts. It is designed to transmit engine power and high torque levels without unwanted slippage.

Renato Susin, Product Marketing Consultant at Fras-le, warned that ignoring signs of wear—such as clutch slipping, hard pedals, vibration, burning smells, or difficulty shifting—can lead to high repair costs. If the material wears down to the rivets, direct metal contact can irreversibly damage the flywheel and pressure plate surfaces.
