Frasca La Guaragna winery promotes Nizza DOCG Barbera

Frasca La Guaragna, a winery located in the hills of Nizza Monferrato, is focusing on the international promotion of the Nizza DOCG denomination. Founded in 2017 through a partnership between New York-based entrepreneur Curtis Frasca and Asti enologist Matteo Gerbi, the estate aims to enhance the prestige of the Barbera grape and the Monferrato territory.

The winery manages 25 hectares of vineyards across the municipalities of Nizza Monferrato, Agliano Terme, and Moasca. Barbera accounts for approximately 70% of the total vineyard area, supplemented by varieties such as Freisa, Grignolino, Arneis, Riesling, and Moscato Bianco.

With an annual production of approximately 80,000 bottles, the company is targeting over twenty international markets. The project emphasizes the connection between the Nizza DOCG identity—which became an autonomous denomination in 2014—and the specific characteristics of the local terroir.
