Frascarelli criticizes Santa Lucia highway interchange project

Giancarlo Frascarelli, a municipal councilor for Fratelli d’Italia, has criticized the Piendibene project regarding the new Santa Lucia highway interchange. He described the decision to proceed as “totally absurd and wrong” in both method and merit.

Frascarelli specifically contested the recent commencement of geological drilling, which he claims occurred without prior notice to local residents. He argued that the administration failed to honor a previous commitment to evaluate alternative proposals from a citizens' committee. One suggested alternative involves completing the Civitavecchia-Porto link via existing routes to avoid land expropriation and neighborhood impact. He further noted that the 11 million euro ministerial funding is not strictly tied to a specific route and warned that the current path could lead to legal disputes or the loss of funds.
