Frascati Wine Consortium appoints new leadership and moves headquarters

The Consorzio di Tutela dei Vini Frascati has announced a leadership change and a move to a new, larger headquarters in Vermicino to support the revitalization of the Frascati wine region. The new board is led by President Danilo Notarnicoladi, alongside Vice Presidents Andrea Evangelisti and Lorenzo Costantini.

The consortium, which represents approximately 40 wineries and an annual production of about 8 million bottles, aims to use the expanded facilities to launch broader projects focused on market development, vineyard management, and sustainability. The region, located in the volcanic territories of the Castelli Romani, currently covers 850 hectares of vineyards.

While the industry faces market image challenges, individual producers are pursuing diverse strategies. Fontana Candida, owned by Gruppo Italiano Vini, produces roughly half of the total Frascati wine and has utilized integrated pest management since 2010. Other producers, such as Tenuta di Pietra Porzia, are employing methods like mycorrhization to manage their vineyards.
