Frascineto to open ActionAid listening center for migrants

A new ActionAid Italia listening center, known as the Polo di Ascolto, is scheduled to open in Frascineto at the end of October. Part of the SWEET NET program and supported by Fondazione Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, the initiative is designed to support women and young migrants.

Rather than a traditional aid desk, the center is envisioned as a space for co-design and a community incubator. It aims to implement a flexible welfare model built alongside residents, focusing on specific life paths, cultural differences, and gender needs. The project seeks to reduce barriers to rights and public services through collaborative governance.

Frascineto joins a social innovation network spanning the Campania, Puglia, and Calabria regions, alongside cities such as Naples, Bari, and Reggio Calabria. Mayor Angelo Catapano stated that the project aims to transform cultural differences into a daily resource and ensure public services are more accessible and human-centric. The center will be active on Tuesday afternoons.
