Fraser Michael Bohm Faces Murder Charges in Malibu Pepperdine Crash

A California judge denied a defense motion to dismiss four murder counts and four vehicular manslaughter counts against Fraser Michael Bohm. Prosecutors allege Bohm was driving a BMW at 104 mph in a 45‑mph zone on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu on Oct. 17, 2023, lost control and struck three parked cars, which were then pushed into four Pepperdine University seniors—Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams—killing them at the scene. The defense argued the implied‑malice murder theory was unsupported because fatal collisions are rare on that stretch, but Judge Thomas Rubinson found the state had supplied sufficient evidence and refused to dismiss the charges. The case is scheduled for trial on Sept. 8, 2026, with pre‑trial motions set for Sept. 2. No alcohol or drugs were found in Bohm’s system at the time of the crash.
