Fratelli d'Italia criticizes Democratic Party legacy in Gela

Ignazio Raniolo, provincial vice secretary of Fratelli d'Italia, has launched a sharp political critique against the Democratic Party (PD) regarding its long-term administrative legacy in Gela.

Raniolo argues that nearly thirty years of center-left governance have resulted in significant economic and social decline. He specifically cites the closure of the local refinery and the subsequent loss of jobs as a primary failure. Additionally, he points to the privatization of water services, which has led to high tariffs, and the municipal financial deficit that continues to impact local citizens through increased taxes.

Further criticisms include the deterioration of the local port, which Raniolo claims has become unusable, and the reduction of essential services and departments at the ‘Vittorio Emanuele’ hospital, such as neurology and psychiatry. The remarks serve as a rebuttal to recent discussions regarding the moral standing of political figures, with Raniolo asserting that the true moral issue lies in the administrative outcomes left behind by the PD.
