Fratelli d'Italia leads polls while facing parliamentary coalition crisis

A recent YouTrend/AGI poll shows Fratelli d'Italia at 27.7% of voter intention, maintaining its position as Italy's leading party. Deputy Giovanni Maiorano said the result “confirms the confidence of Italians in the government led by Giorgia Meloni” and described the party’s support as “recognition of the seriousness, coherence and leadership of the President of the Council.”

At the same time, the party is confronting a parliamentary setback. A secret vote on a preference amendment was rejected 139‑233, with Lega and Forza Italia breaking a prior agreement and voting against the government. The outcome left Fratelli d'Italia short of a majority, prompting calls for new alliances and raising concerns about the stability of the coalition governance ahead of the upcoming budget law and future elections.
