Fratelli d'Italia questions patronage of Sigfrido Ranucci event

Marta Evangelisti, the leader of the Fratelli d'Italia group in the regional assembly, has filed an inquiry regarding the institutional support for the Casale Cineforum in Casalfiumanese. The inquiry focuses on a scheduled event for September 3, 2026, featuring journalist Sigfrido Ranucci and his theatrical performance, ‘Diario di un trapezista - Cronache di resilienza di un reporter’.

Evangelisti argues that it is “institutionally inappropriate” to provide a public platform and institutional seal to Ranucci while he is involved in an ongoing investigative matter described as being “dense with shadows and contradictions.” This follows recent statements by Valter Lavitola regarding an attack against the journalist.

The inquiry asks whether the regional government was informed of the event's rescheduling from July to September and whether any regional funds or patronage were granted. While the inquiry calls on the regional administration to urge the municipality of Casalfiumanese to reconsider or withdraw its patronage, the final decision to revoke such support rests solely with the local municipality.
