Romania: Police conduct widespread operations and arrests

Romanian law enforcement agencies have conducted numerous operations across various counties, resulting in multiple arrests for diverse criminal activities.

In Arad, a major crackdown on drug trafficking led to the detention of 17 individuals, including two minors, following 33 house searches. In Timișoara, three people were detained for continuous cannabis trafficking involving a 65-year-old dealer and two 20-year-old intermediaries.

Other notable incidents include a 25-year-old man detained in Vâlcea for threatening a man and destroying a vehicle with a chainsaw, and a 16-year-old in Gorj detained for attempted robbery. In Argeș, a 27-year-old man was apprehended in Bucharest for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old minor.

Domestic violence and public safety incidents were also reported, including a man in Covasna issued a protection order for assaulting his wife, and a man in Alba detained for violating a protection order. Additionally, police in Bistrița conducted safety checks near schools, identifying 27 students absent from classes.
