Fraudsters impersonate Mercado Libre and Correo Argentino to steal funds

Fraudsters are targeting residents by impersonating well-known companies such as Mercado Libre and Correo Argentino. In one reported incident, criminals contacted a victim claiming there was ‘strange movement’ on their account following a fraudulent television purchase. By requesting banking details under the guise of canceling the transaction, the perpetrators successfully emptied the victim's bank account.

Another reported tactic involves using WhatsApp with official logos to contact individuals. In one case, scammers sent messages regarding a delivery and resorted to insults when the recipient did not comply with their demands. Local residents are being urged to remain vigilant against these impersonation attempts.
