Frauenfeld and Dresden announce local road and pedestrian infrastructure works
Local infrastructure projects are underway in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, and Dresden, Germany, involving roadwork and pedestrian safety improvements.
In Frauenfeld, the Office for Civil Engineering and Transport will install new surface coatings on Äussere Stammerau and Walzmühlestrasse. Preparatory work begins on September 28, 2026, with full closures scheduled from October 2 to October 3. During this period, Walzmühlestrasse will experience partial closures, and city bus line 805 will only operate as far as the Talackerstrasse stop.
In Dresden, the city is installing a new pedestrian crossing on Glacisstraße in the Neustadt district to improve safety. The project, which is part of the city’s pedestrian traffic strategy, is expected to run from October 5 until early November. The works include widening the central island, adjusting the tactile paving system for the visually impaired, and installing additional lighting. To ensure visibility, existing car parking spaces will be converted into bicycle parking. The project is estimated to cost approximately 44,000 euros.
