Fray Bentos celebrates first graduates in inclusive education program

The Instituto de Formación Docente Dr. Guillermo Ruggia held a sensitization event in Fray Bentos, Uruguay, focused on disability and diversity. The event marked the conclusion of the first generation of the Technical Degree in Pedagogical Support for Inclusive Education, which is expected to produce 21 graduates in the region by the end of October.

As part of the program, participants engaged in an activity called ‘Ponte en los zapatos’ (Put yourself in their shoes). This initiative used various devices to allow attendees to experience challenges related to autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, and various motor, visual, auditory, and intellectual disabilities. The program emphasizes a social perspective of disability, focusing on removing environmental barriers to ensure individuals can study, work, and participate fully in society.
