Frýdek-Místek begins forest transformation into interactive Lesopark

The city of Frýdek-Místek is transforming its forest area into a Lesopark (forest park) to create a more attractive destination for locals and visitors. The project includes the development of five walking routes of varying lengths and three interactive educational trails focused on water, trees, and birds.

The first phase of the project involves connecting revitalized ponds on the Bílý potok stream and reconstructing access roads to improve accessibility. A key feature will be the 'Water Trail,' which will include interactive elements such as improvised telescopes and inverted megaphones to help visitors experience the sounds of the forest.

Architect Tomáš Čech from Polychrome studio designed the concept with an emphasis on sustainability and the use of gentle, eco-friendly materials to ensure the park integrates harmoniously with the natural environment. The project aims to offer diverse activities, ranging from bird watching and educational paths for children to running tracks for adults.
