Frýdek-Místek highway accident leaves driver in critical condition

A serious traffic accident occurred on the D48 highway near Frýdek-Místek on the night of September 30. A driver reportedly lost control of their vehicle and collided with another car, which was subsequently pushed into a ditch. The impact caused the second vehicle to overturn, ejecting its driver.

Emergency services, including a rescue helicopter, responded to the scene. A 35-year-old man, who was found outside his vehicle and required resuscitation after suffering cardiac arrest, was transported in critical condition to the Ostrava University Hospital following a blood transfusion. Two other individuals, a 44-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital in Frýdek-Místek.

Police confirmed that breathalyzer tests for the driver of the first vehicle were negative, while the second driver's condition prevented an immediate test. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
