Oil tanker attacked in Strait of Hormus; Terra 2 clears Rhine sandbank

An oil tanker was struck by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormus near the northern tip of Oman. The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported the incident occurred less than eight kilometers from the coast. The crew is reported to be safe. This event follows a pattern of frequent attacks in the strategic waterway, which remains a point of tension between Iran and the United States.

In Germany, the cargo ship ‘Terra 2’ has successfully left the Port of Düsseldorf after being stuck on a sandbank for five days due to low water levels on the Rhine. The 135-meter vessel was transporting Mercedes Sprinter vans. To reduce weight and depth, some vehicles were unloaded before the ship was able to proceed toward Rotterdam. A dispute has emerged between the logistics company, Mosolf, and port authorities regarding the cause of the grounding; Mosolf claims insufficient dredging in the harbor, while authorities suggested the captain misjudged the vessel's draft.
