Fred Bruno recovers after being grazed by a bullet in São Paulo nightclub

Journalist and Globo Esporte presenter Fred Bruno has shared updates on his recovery after being grazed by a bullet during a disturbance at a nightclub in the Itaim Bibi neighborhood of São Paulo. Bruno, who was not involved in the altercation, reported experiencing pain, swelling, and a burning sensation in his foot following the discharge.

On October 24, Bruno posted on social media showing his bandaged foot and celebrating medical clearance to resume physical activities, including playing basketball. He also recently celebrated placing third in an internal basketball tournament.

The shooting occurred on the morning of October 19 and involved state deputy Marcelo Aguiar (PL). According to police reports, Aguiar was in an agitated state following a political demonstration. The incident reportedly began after Aguiar allegedly harassed women at the venue and was confronted by patrons.

Police investigations are examining two versions of the event: one suggesting Aguiar drew his weapon during the argument, and another suggesting the firearm discharged accidentally after he fell. While Aguiar was detained, he was not imprisoned due to political immunity. Bruno has since filed a formal criminal complaint, upgrading the incident from a firearm discharge to bodily injury.
