Fred Cheng discusses son's medical progress and marriage status

Singer Fred Cheng addressed his son's health and his marriage to Stephanie Ho during a charity gala for the Good Learning Charity Foundation. Cheng reported that his son, Asher, who has Angelman syndrome, has shown significant improvement while receiving treatment in Vancouver. The singer noted that the child's seizures are better controlled, his willingness to learn has increased, and he is showing progress in physical mobility and musical aptitude.

Addressing online rumors that sending their son to Canada for treatment constituted “abandonment,” Cheng clarified that the family utilizes a support network of relatives in Vancouver to assist with care. He and his wife rotate time spent in Canada to ensure their son is supported.

Regarding his marriage, Cheng acknowledged his wife's previous comments about the couple losing the “passion” they had during their early dating years. He stated that while that specific intensity has changed, they still share deep love and function as a strong team. He also encouraged his wife to remain unaffected by online criticism regarding her social media presence, emphasizing that family health and happiness are the priorities.
