Fred criticizes Erik ten Hag's management at Manchester United

Former Manchester United midfielder Fred has criticized former manager Erik ten Hag regarding his leadership and management of the squad. Speaking on the ‘Charla Podcast’, the Brazilian midfielder acknowledged Ten Hag’s tactical proficiency but heavily criticized his interpersonal skills and ability to manage the group.

Fred alleged that Ten Hag frequently clashed with key players, including himself, Casemiro, Marcus Rashford, and Cristiano Ronaldo. He further claimed that the manager fostered cliques within the team, stating, “Only his Dutch players played. He was a coach of little groups.”

Regarding the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Fred noted a fundamental disagreement in philosophy. He explained that Ten Hag demanded a high-pressing, high-running style of play that conflicted with Ronaldo’s stage of career, leading to the player being removed from the starting lineup and subsequent friction between the two.
