American darts player Fred Krueger has moved closer to qualifying for his first World Darts Championship after winning the Cosmo Darts Championship in Chicago. This victory marks his third CDC Main Tour title of the 2026 season.

Krueger’s performance during the CDC Main Tour weekend in Oakbrook Terrace, which included a semi-final appearance at the Winmau Darts Masters and a last-16 finish at the DartConnect Challenge, has elevated him to the highest-ranked American player who has not yet secured a spot at Alexandra Palace.

Other notable results from the Chicago weekend included Canadian David Cameron winning the Winmau Darts Masters by defeating current CDC Main Tour leader Adam Sevada. Both Cameron and Sevada have already secured their positions for the World Championship.

The final opportunity for Krueger to secure qualification will take place during the remaining CDC Main Tour events in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, scheduled for October 16–18, 2026.
